NUMS HEC NEED BASED SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

NUMS Scholarships | Complete Guide

To provide financial support to its students, the Financial Aid Office of NUMS announces Phase V of the HEC – NUMS Need-Based Scholarship Program. Scholarships shall be granted based on financial need after due authentication and scrutiny of documents, and interviews. This scholarship is offered to presently enrolled students of all Departments of NUMS and Constituent Colleges, i.e., Armed Forces Postgraduate Medical Institute (AFPGMI) and Army Medical College, Rawalpindi (AM College). Eligibility Criteria

• Here is Eligibility Criteria of NUMS Scholarships Scheme.
• Students who are already enrolled in an undergraduate program (4 years/5 years) offered by all the Departments of NUMS and Constituent Colleges, i.e., AFPGMI and AM College can apply for NUMS Scholarships.
• Newly admitted students of Fall – 2024 in the above-mentioned undergraduate programs are also eligible to apply for scholarships.
• The eligibility of the candidate is linked to his/her financial needs as assessed by the Institutional Scholarship Award Committee (ISAC). The financial background of the family of the applicant will be kept in view in this regard.
• ​Financial assistance & scholarships are available for study at the Undergraduate level in all disciplines at HEC-selected public sector Pakistani universities and degree-awarding institutions.
• Students need to compete for securing admission at the participating institution as per the admission policy of the institution and be enrolled in Undergraduate (4-5 years) programs.
• Students in financial need who are already enrolled in participating institutions are also eligible to apply.
• The eligibility of a candidate is linked to his/her financial needs as assessed by the Institutional Scholarship Award Committee. The financial background of the family of the applicant will be kept in view in this regard.
• The number of slots will be decided by the universities keeping in view the budget of the current year.
• Funding for slots will continue for the complete duration of the program. In case any students drop out, they will be replaced by other candidates on the waiting list of the current year.
• All disciplines will be kept open. The selected university will decide whether to include or exclude any discipline keeping in view its grant, program cost, and number of allocated slots, etc.
• In the case of Medicine, Pharm-D and other five-year programs, funding will be made available for the complete program.
• Considering the allocated grant, the university may adjust the total number of scholarships to an extent in order to cover the university fee.
• In addition to the university fee, every grantee will be paid Rs.6000/- stipend per month for the complete program.
• Those students who secure admission on self-finance are not eligible for HEC Need-Based Scholarship Program.
• Note: The complete application should be sent to relevant Financial Aid Offices where the applicant intends to secure admission.

Financial Support

NUMS Scholarships provides the following financial coverage:-

• It covers tuition fees (excluding exam fees, admission fees, etc.) from the date of the award to the completion of the degree (paid directly to the institution).
• A monthly stipend of Rs. 6000/- per month will be paid to awardees for the remaining degree.

Scholarship Award Process

NUMS Scholarships provide awarding to its students. After the initial scrutiny and verification of application documents, the Institutional Scholarship Award Committee (ISAC) of NUMS will call shortlisted candidates for an interview. After endorsement by HEC, the successful candidates will be informed accordingly.

To get NUMS Scholarships you must have submit Application forms, along with supporting documents to NUMS – Financial Aid Office through the respective Departmental Representative/Coordinator after the perusal of the concerned Head of the Department (HoD).
