PEEF Scholarships | PEEF Outreach Scholarship

The PEEF Scholarships has allocated 80% of its annual scholarships for under “Outreach Scholarships” category. The PEEF Scholarship program, launched by the Government of Punjab, is a merit-cum-need-based scholarship that aims to provide financial assistance to students who demonstrate academic excellence and come from less privileged backgrounds. The Outreach Scholarships, in particular, are tailored to support students from marginalized and underdeveloped areas of the province, ensuring that no deserving student is left behind due to financial constraints.

These PEEF Scholarships are awarded to needy & talented students to pursue higher education for studies in the following two (2) educational levels.

  • Intermediate
  • Graduation

Type of Institutions

These PEEF Scholarships have been allocated for both public and private sector educational institutions.

The Approach

The PEEF Scholarships has adopted a “Pro-active Approach” for the award of Outreach Scholarships to the talented and needy students. No advertisements are released to seek applications for scholarships (except Special Quota & Master’s level); rather PEEF itself obtains data of meritorious students from all Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) of Punjab and Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) and contact the eligible and meritorious students who have attained top positions in their respective tehsils & educational streams.

Geographic Allocation

The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund endeavors to bring best educational opportunities to the less privileged and talented youth of Punjab, and bring them at par with the most fortunate ones. In this perspective, the districts of Punjab have been divided into two major categories; Developed Districts (DDs) and Less Developed Districts (LDDs)

Level Wise Eligibility Criteria

Below are the general eligibility requirements for PEEF Outreach Scholarships:

  1. Residency: The applicant must be a resident of Punjab and belong to a remote or underdeveloped area of the province. Specific districts and tehsils are prioritized based on the level of deprivation.
  2. Academic Performance: The student must have secured at least 60% marks in the last annual examination. This criterion is strictly enforced to ensure that the scholarships are awarded to academically capable students.
  3. Enrollment: The applicant must be enrolled in a regular full-time educational institution recognized by the relevant authorities. The scholarship is not available to students enrolled in distance learning or part-time programs.
  4. Income Threshold: The applicant’s family income should not exceed a certain threshold, which is periodically determined by PEEF. This ensures that the scholarships are awarded to students who genuinely need financial assistance.
  5. Special Quotas: PEEF Scholarships also allocates a certain percentage of scholarships for orphans, children of government employees in BPS 1-4, children of minorities, and children with special needs. These quotas aim to provide equal opportunities to all segments of society.

Intermediate and Graduation Level

The students must have:

  • Passed Matriculation OR Intermediate annual examination held by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Punjab or Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad in annual.
  • Only students of Federal Government Institutions and Federal Private affiliated institutions situated within geographical boundaries of Punjab are eligible.
  • Declared monthly income of parents (from all sources) is equal to or less than PKR. 60,000/- .
  • For Special Quota Scholarships, the student must fall in at least one of the S.Q categories.
    • Orphans
    • Children of government employees of BPS 1-4 (Children of Both Serving and Retired Govt. servants are eligible )
    • Children belonging to minority religion
    • Special Children (Disabled)
    • The Children of civilians martyred in terrorist’s attacks
    • Children of divorced mothers
  • Not availing any other educational scholarship during the current academic year
  • Secured admission in a regular educational institution as a full time student in the same year as of passing the examination.

Application Process for PEEF Outreach Scholarships

  1. Advertisement and Announcement: PEEF Scholarships announces the availability of Outreach Scholarships through various channels, including newspapers, the official PEEF website, and educational institutions. Note

  • The Children of government servants in BPS 1 – 4 are exempted from income limit criteria if salary is the only source of income
  • Children of civilians martyred in terrorist attacks are also exempted from the monthly income limit of Rs. 60,000/-
  • Marks improvers or students who have passed examination in supplementary session are ineligible to apply for PEEF scholarships.
  • Students who have passed the aforementioned examination with grace marks (*) are ineligible to apply for PEEF scholarships.
