MBBS Admissions Guide – Federal Medical College Islamabad
Federal Medical College, Islamabad is the Constituent College of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) which is offering MBBS Program. This College was Federal Medical and Dental College , But Now its Federal Medical College , Because for Dental Students there is a separate Dental College is Constructed named as Federal Institute of Dentistry Islamabad. FMDC is regulated by Federal Govt so this College has quota for all Regions of Pakistan Including Disabled Candidates. Eligibility Criteria For Admissions in Federal Medical College Islamabad
To be eligible for admission to the MBBS program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
MDCAT Requirements
The applicant has scored minimum Fifty Five Percent (55%) marks in the MDCAT examination conducted by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council
Academic Qualifications
- Obtained a Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification (“HSSC”) or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan
- Having obtained more than Sixty Percent (65%) marks therein, or a higher percentage as may be notified by the Medical and Dental Council
- Passed the subjects of biology and chemistry and either physics or mathematics in the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan
Merit Requirements
No candidate shall be considered eligible on merit if the candidate has not acquired:
- Minimum 65% marks, in HSSC or F.Sc (Pre-medical) or equivalent examination having minimum twelve years of education
- Minimum 55% marks in the MDCAT examination conducted by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council
Quota Requirements
The candidates desirous for admission against quota needs to submit a document issued by concerned authority certifying that applicant is eligible against the quota i.e. domicile certificate, Federal Government Employees Certificate, disability certificate.
The candidates applying on the basis of domiciles will have to provide, in addition to domicile certificate, proof of residence/property/education or any tangible evidence of stay in region of domicile.

Admission Process for Federal Medical College, Islamabad
First of all , Students Must appear in MDCAT exam of their own Province. After announcement of MDCAT Result by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council , SZABMU will issue the advertisement for MBBS BDS Admissions in three Govt Sectors Medical Colleges , 1. Federal Medical College Islamabad , 2. Federal Institute of Dentistry islamabad , 3. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zaid Alnahyan Medical College Lahore.
Students will have to apply online on the website of SZABMU for admission into Federal Medical College Islamabad. Upon Final Selection , SZABMU will display the Merit Lists on Its website, Selected Candidates will have to submit Fee and Documents at Federal Medical College Islamabad with in the given Time. Upon failure of submission of fee , student’s admission will be considered cancelled and new student from the waiting list will be called for admissions at federal medical college islamabad.

B. For 2nd year and onward:

Hostel fee For Girls 36000 per year
Hostel fee For Boys 8000 per month
Note:
1. This is the Latest Fee Structure for Federal Medical College.
2. College administration can changes fee structure without prior notification.
3. TOTAL AMOUNT PAYABLE AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION IS:
GIRLS 72000/= with hostel or 36000/= without hostel.
BOYS 44000/= with hostel or 36000/= without hostel.
This is because Exam fee is paid at the time annual examination and university and PMDC registration fees are paid usually after 3_4 months of commencement of classes.

In First Merit list , usually merit is always high , but in upcoming merit lists , mbbs merit gradually down, because students get admissions in other medical colleges also. for Example a Student with Aggregate 96%+ will get admission in Federal Medical College Islamabad and King Edward Medical University lahore . Most of the chances is here , he will select KEMU , so Here in Federal medical College , seat will remain vacant and new merit list will be issued with slightly Low merit.
